Hire and Membership

  1. HireForm
    a) A hire form must be completed for each hire with your full name, address and contact details, all charges, payment details, return method and date.
    b) Your personal details will be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and will only be used to contact you in relation to your hire and occasional Sling Library events or promotions.
  2. Hire Cost and Duration
    a) All carriers are lent subject to availability, condition and suitability.
    b) The standard hire period is 1 week. Each newborn carrier hire costs £2 a week/£5 a month for members or £3 a week/£10 a month for non members. All other carriers are £4 each a week/£10 a month for members and £6 each a week/£20 a month for non members. Hire fees are non-refundable.
  3. Membership
    a) Membership to Mid Kent Babywearing is £20 for a year, and £30 for lifetime membership. This allows you free fitting / demonstration / advice, and allows you to hire up to 2 carriers at any one time. Membership fees are non-refundable.
    b) We require 2 forms of identification, one of which has to be a photo ID and one showing your current address. You must inform us if you change address and bring proof of this in order for our records to be kept updated.
    c) You will be liable to cover any costs occurred if the items (carrier, instructions, and any accessories) are lost or damaged beyond normal wear and tear. The total costs will be claimed through small claims court if necessary.
    d) If we do not hear from you after 30 days from the start of you hire we will consider the items lost, file a claim for total costs of the item plus any outstanding late fees and cancel your membership.
    e) The membership is for your own personal use. It can only be used by the person who took it out. If you are found to let anyone else use your membership it will be terminated without warning and without a refund.
  4. Non Members
    a) Up to 15 minutes of fitting / demonstration / advice for one carrier is £5.
    b) We require at least one form of payment details, and 2 forms of identification, one of which has to be a photo ID and one showing your current address. You must inform us if you change your payment details or address and bring proof of this in order for our records to be kept updated.
    c) You will be liable to cover any costs occurred if the item is lost or damaged beyond normal wear and tear. The replacement of any lost or damaged items will be charged to the payment details provided. Charges for lost items will be equal to replacement cost (including any postage costs.) Charges for items damaged beyond normal wear and tear will be judged on a case by case basis.
    d) If we do not hear from you after 30 days from the start of you hire we will consider the item lost, file a claim for total costs of the item plus any outstanding late fees.
    e) Late fees are applicable to lost/damaged items and may be charged to the payment details provided.
